Our first opera on DVD is "Tancredi" by Gioachino Rossini, recorded at the Teatro Verdi in Trieste by the great voice of Daniela Barcellona, conducted by Paolo Arrivabeni, Daniela Barcellona is considered heiress of the unforgettable Lucia Valentini Terrani. Following Tancredi, Mascagni's "L'amico Fritz" has appeared on line. This is the only DVD of this opera, recorded at the Opera House of Livorno, the city of Mascagni's birth. Here, too, a grand voice, Dimitra Theodossiou, who appears frequently at La Scala., With Riccardo Muti. The male lead of "L'amico Fritz" is the Spanish tenor, Jose' Bros whom we encounter immediately after at La Scala in "Zarzuelas"."Zanetto" by Pietro Mascagni, recorded in Savona by the soprano Denia Mazzola Gavazzeni, is conducted by Bruno Aprea and directed by Beppe De Tomasi. This DVD also contains a selection of rare operat arias: Also by Pietro Mascagni, "Cavalleria Rusticana" recorded at the Teatro Umberto Giordano in Foggia with the voice of the American soprano Madelyn Rene Monti, conducted by Elisabetta Maschio, directed by Giovanna Nocetti. This DVD also contains a selection from Leoncavallo's "Pagliacci" sung by the great tenor, Giuseppe Giacomini. Gioachino Rossini's rare comic opera "L'equivoco stravagante", recorded at the Teatro Comunale of Bologna, is conducted by Carmine Carrisi and directed by Francesco Esposito. The opera was realized at the Laboratorio di Musica Lirica of the Conservatorio G.B. Martini in Bologna, by the powerful contralto voice of The Russian Olga Voznessenskaia . Vincenzo Bellini's "Norma" was recorded live at the Teatro dell'Opera Giocosa of Savona with the incomparable voice of Maria Dragoni, conducted by Massimiliano Carraro, directed by Massimo Gasparon. The artistry of Maria Dragoni is recognized throughout the world. Her "Sonnambula" at the Teatro San Carlo of Naples is memorable, but, unfortunately was not recorded in video. Her similarity to Maria Callas is remarkable. Another great production of ours, is "Medea" by Luigi Cherubini. This dramatic interpretation by Denia Mazzola Gavazzeni was recorded at the Teatro Verdi of Sassari; conductor, Eric Hull, director, Giseppe Sollazzo. This opera, seldom performed owing to its difficulty, is known to all thanks to Maria Callas. Her Medea at La Scala in 1961 under the direction of Thomas Schippers, recorded on CD remains memorable.. This thus, is the only "Medea" existing today on DVD. Bellini's "I Capuleti e i Montecchi" is another effort of our independant label. It was recorded in Teatro Alfieri of Ravenna on the occasion of the early Ravenna Festival. Conductor Pietro Mianiti, directed Cristina Muti. The wonderful voices of Paola Gardina and Valentina Fargas complete this exceptional first world recording on DVD. Charles Gounod's "Faust"; recorded Teatro Coccia of Novarais dircted by famous director Beppe De Tomasi and conducted by Marcello Rota. Remarkable is the interpretation of Danilo Rigose in the role of Mephistofeles and of Massimiliano Tonsini in the title role. The performance is enriched by the presence of the famous Ballet of Teatro Coccia. Amilcare Ponchielli's "La Gioconda" is another important production of Kicco Music. Recorded in the famous Teatro Massimo Bellini in Catania conducted by Danilo Renzetti and directed by Roberto Lagana' with Lucia Mazzaria. "La Serva Scaltra" by Johann Adolph Hasse is also a first world recording on DVD of this rare baroque opera.
